Famous New York Slice Spot Brings Thick-Cut Pepperoni Squares and Late-Night Energy to Baton Rouge
Pizza lovers in Baton Rouge are getting a taste of New York’s most famous square slices. Prince St. Pizza is making its official state debut on Friday, Oct. 9, at 6556 Siegen Lane.
Positioned right along a bustling retail strip just down the road from LSU, the walk-up counter brings late-night dining and classic square pies to game-day crowds and locals alike. The new spot represents the first location in the state for franchise partner Lawrence Kourie, the largest owner of Dave’s Hot Chicken, who stepped in back in March to guide market growth.
To kick things off on Friday, Oct. 9, the restaurant opens its doors at 11 a.m. with a free slice of pizza for the first 50 people in line. Former two-division UFC champion Jon Jones, who joined as a shop partner in August, will also be making an appearance for the celebration.
“We designed this kitchen around volume, because nothing in this city happens quietly,” said Kourie. “Every person behind that counter was put through the same training our New York crews get. Opening on a Friday in October was intentional. Football weekends, a campus a few minutes up the road and a town that stays out late is about as close to Manhattan hours as the South gets.”
Legendary Slices on the Menu at Prince St. Pizza
Diners can expect the full iconic menu on opening day, featuring house-made sauces and dough crafted with a custom water filtration setup that mimics New York tap water:
- The Spicy Spring: A signature fra diavolo square pie loaded with thick-cut pepperoni cups on a crisp focaccia-style crust.
- The Naughty Pie: A flavorful square layered with spicy vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and a drizzle of hot honey.
- Round Pies and Extras: Traditional New York-style round pizzas, Caesar and Italian chopped salads, smoked mozzarella sticks, and sweet desserts.
From Nolita to Nationwide Recognition
Started in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood back in 2012, the business was built on Morano family recipes and a fun belief: if it tastes good on pasta, it belongs on a slice.
“Prince St. Pizza was built on a simple idea: make a slice people can’t stop talking about,” said Lawrence Longo, CEO of Prince St. Pizza. “Hand someone a square with the pepperoni curled up at the edges and they will call three friends before they finish it. That is how this thing traveled out of Nolita, one market at a time.”
The Baton Rouge restaurant joins a growing list of cities that already includes Las Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville, Toronto, Miami, San Diego, and Arizona.
Operating Hours and Ordering Details
The new Baton Rouge location offers dine-in seating, pickup, and catering services. Operating hours run Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with extended late-night service until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
