Owner-entrepreneur James Wang has discovered a new cuisine combination that appears to be taking off as he opens his second unit of this concept with an upscale menu focus at 725 River Road by mid-February.  The Vietnamese-Thai menu will feature family recipes using locally sourced ingredients.

Austin, TX – Austin Daily Press
Collaborators Dustin Knef and Executive Chef Reed Faitak plan a “winter” opening for their “refined” Tex-Mex Diner operation located at 4620 E. Cezar Chavez Street.  House-made pulled pork, tempeh chorizo, specialty salsas will be featured on the menu of this eatery which they plan to take “up a notch”.

Jackson, MI – Chilango’s Cantina Grill
Chef-Owner, Carlos Perez is taking his time to “nail it” with the opening of his casual fare operation at 501 Longfellow Avenue by late February or early March.  While the menu will offer tradition Mexican fare it will reflect the cuisine of the Mexico City region along with seafood items and a full service bar.

Yorkville, IL – 1836 Drink Lab & Provisions
A new casual eatery concept will soon come to downtown with a planned opening of late March, early April at 101 W. Van Emmon Street.  Owner Dale Lewis wants to “connect” with the community and plans to offer a bakery, coffee shop and off-premise bottle shop in addition to the restaurant operation.

Carlsbad, CA – Bluewater Grill
Partners Richard Staunton and Jimmy Ulcickas will open their latest rendition of their casual-feel, upscale-cuisine eatery concept at 417 Carlsbad Village Drive sometime this spring.  Guests can look forward to a menu of sustainably-sourced seafood prepared in classical style or with a modern twist.

Washington, DC – Del Mar
Fresh off their success with Fiola Mare and Casa Luca, restaurateur couple Fabio and Maria Trabocchi will open their next upscale-fare concept at 791 Wharf Street SW by October.  The menu will feature the coastal cuisines of Spain along with tapas, Paella, Spanish wines, ciders and a full service bar.
