Special holiday menu features both traditional and contemporary offerings
As families gather to create the telltale sights, sounds and smells of the holiday season, Ruffino’s Restaurant has all the culinary trimmings to make this year’s Thanksgiving feast unique and worry-free.
On Thursday, Nov. 27, Ruffino’s will offer its annual Thanksgiving To-Go services from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. The award-winning restaurant will also be open for dine-in guests during these hours, serving up traditional home-cooked meals alongside Ruffino’s signature “Creole meets Italian” favorites.
From classic comfort foods like roasted turkey with oyster dressing and sweet potato casserole to contemporary creations like braised beef short ribs and wild mushroom bread pudding, Ruffino’s culinary masterpieces are the perfect complement to any Thanksgiving celebration. The holiday menu also includes decadent desserts like pecan pie, pumpkin cheesecake and tiramisu.
“Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on our blessings as Americans while celebrating the gift of family,” said Ruffino’s Executive Chef Peter Sclafani. “Our special Thanksgiving menu blends the best of time-honored traditions with an authentic cross-cultural fusion sure to brighten homes throughout the area this holiday. Sclafani’s impressive list of accolades includes multiple Fleur de Lis Culinary Awards from the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience, Baton Rouge “Chef of the Year” honors, and most recently, the Louisiana Restaurant Association’s 2014 “Restaurateur of the Year” Award, which he shared with Ruffino’s co-owner Ruffin Rodrigue.
