Build A Scoop, the world’s first immersive and interactive steampunk craft gelato experience, has announced it will be officially opening its first store – a whole new kind of ice cream shop – in San Bernardino, California on Saturday, May 1st.
Located in the heart of San Bernardino at 424 E Hospitality Lane, unit B-7, Build A Scoop is hosting a Grand Opening celebration from 12 noon – 12 midnight on May 1st. Festivities will include free merchandise and discounts for the first 100 people in line and additional giveaways all night long. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win free gelato for a year.
“Especially now, as we are slowly emerging from such a trying time, people just need a place to have fun with friends and family. We couldn’t be more excited to be opening Build A Scoop now in San Bernardino,” says Amanda Contreras, the owner of the new location and the creator of the Build a Scoop concept. “Build A Scoop perfectly combines my background developing entertaining experiential destinations like escape rooms and virtual reality with my lifelong love of all kinds of sweets.”
Build A Scoop is a place where the nostalgia and warm service of an old-fashioned ice cream shop are reborn into an environment rich with science, magic, and wonder. Guests can interact with retro- futuristic costumed staff. They can turn knobs, switch lights on and off, and play with gadgets everywhere. But the star of the show is the gelato.
Build A Scoop has worked with an amazing chef who brings his understanding of flavor and a lifetime of culinary creativity to develop an exciting menu. Expect the fan favorites, like Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry. Explore the unexpected, like Avocado, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Vanilla Maple Bacon, and Cereal & Milk.
CRAFT
San Bernardino area residents are invited to show their craftiness, creativity, and individuality, as they custom-build their own dream ice cream, customized to their unique tastes and wildest desires.
GELATO
Build A Scoop only uses premium gelato, made with pure milk from grass-fed cows. It is incredibly smooth and just melts in your mouth. Build-a-Scoop has something for everyone, designed to satisfy and excite no matter what one’s diet or mood might be, including a bounty of great non-dairy, and vegan options.
EXPERIENCE
Guests can come out for a one-of-a-kind experience and atmosphere that will activate all of the senses! They can watch ice cream be frozen with nitrogen and blended with an endless array of toppings in front of their eyes in the main event, with eye-popping action and intrigue everywhere they turn.
Amanda notes, “Build A Scoop is all about flavor and fun for family, friends, and loved ones – even pets are welcome! This is a destination for shared experiences, whether it’s the end of a perfect date night, a special occasion, or just a hot, spring weekday. Arrive for the flavor, stay for the show, tell everyone, and come back soon!”
Amanda notes that the Build A Scoop concept has struck a note beyond the initial opening, as she has plans to open Arizona locations in Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix in the near term, as well as an additional California shop in Orange County. There is also strong interest from potential franchisees in locales as far-ranging as San Francisco, Utah, Texas, Florida, Arizona, and London, UK.
