Dickey’s Ignites Love for National Barbecue Month

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is kicking up its heels in celebration of National Barbecue Month. The Texas-based barbecue chain is sending its nationally recognized “Smokin’ 41” TransAm to cruise the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex handing out various prizes including free barbecue, shirts and giveaways.

“We’re so honored to be the fastest growing and largest barbecue franchise,” said Roland Dickey, Jr. president of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “We’re always looking for exciting ways to reward our customers and their love for our great barbecue.”

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit opened its first family-owned location in Dallas in 1941. The company began franchising in 1994 and has continued to grow across the country. Dickey’s currently has more than 220 locations in 42 states nationwide and plans to open 100 new stores in 2012.

“The TransAm will be all over the city this month,” said Joette Young, Dickey’s Barbecue Director of Marketing. “When fans spot us, we encourage them to show their love for our barbecue in order to earn a prize.”

Since 1941, the world’s largest barbecue franchise has offered free kids meals every Sunday and affordable family packs designed to bring the whole family together for dinner. Dickey’s Barbecue offers a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides and tangy barbecue sauce. All meats are slow smoked on-site in each restaurant.
