First Watch to Open First Restaurant in Winter Park
Orlando’s favorite Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch restaurant First Watch today announced plans to debut in Winter Park, Fla., in the summer of 2013. The restaurant will employ approximately 25 people.

The new 3,800 sq. ft. restaurant, located at 2295 Aloma Ave. in the Aloma Shopping Center, will hold an interior space formerly occupied by Blockbuster Video in the Publix Super Markets-anchored shopping center. This location will mark the seventh Orlando-area First Watch. Currently, there are 36 First Watch restaurants in Florida.

First Watch has won numerous awards in the area, some for several consecutive years, including “Best Breakfast” in the Orlando Magazine Dining Awards, “Best Brunch Restaurant” and “Best Power Breakfast Restaurant” in the Orlando Business Journal Readers’ Choice Awards, and “Best Breakfast” and “Best Brunch” in the Orlando Sentinel Foodie Awards.

“Since we opened our first restaurant in Orlando 20 years ago, we have been overwhelmed by the way the Orlando community has treated us, so it seems only natural that we continue to expand our presence and bring our unique Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch items to even more residents in the area,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch.

As the company kicks off its 30th year, its aggressive growth strategy continues to evolve in its home state. The news of the Winter Park restaurant comes on the heels of two other recent announcements for locations in Florida – St. Petersburg and Wellington, opening in the first half of 2013.

The new Winter Park restaurant will feature an interior design concept known as “Connect.” It connects traditional First Watch design elements with contemporary executions by maximizing natural light provided during the restaurant’s daytime hours, and incorporating color tones intended to convey the warm and inviting personality of the First Watch brand. The design also accentuates an open-kitchen concept, which reinforces First Watch’s honest approach to fresh food preparation.

A recipient of more than 200 “Best Of” accolades in markets across the country, the restaurant features traditional favorites including pancakes, omelets, salads and sandwiches, as well as signature specialties such as the Chickichanga®, Healthy Turkey Omelet™ and Fresh Fruit Crepes. All menu items are freshly prepared to order and the restaurant does not use deep fryers or heat lamps. First Watch can also accommodate those with food allergies and those who want healthy lifestyle options.

In addition to serving unique and fresh entrées, First Watch offers its exclusive Sunrise Select® Premium Blend Coffee. The special blend is made from slow-roasted, hand-selected, high-grown Panamanian, Colombian and Mexican coffee beans.

First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers guests complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.
