Johnny Rockets Celebrates Grand Opening in El Paso, TX - Drive-In, Drive Thru or Enjoy the Patio at the New RestaurantJohnny Rockets is celebrating its new restaurant with a grand opening event on Saturday, September 24 from 3 pm to 5 pm.  The restaurant on Mesa and University is Johnny Rockets’ second location in the country to have a drive thru and showcases the brand’s new logo and modern restaurant design that was introduced in April as the new Johnny Rockets 2.0.   Johnny Rockets offers a whole new experience designed to be more relevant and engaging to families, millennials, singles and loyal guests who have grown up with Johnny Rockets.  The drive thru is a convenient way for people on the go to enjoy Johnny Rockets’ top quality food, served fast and at a great value.

“When we started construction we had people stopping by and telling us how excited they were about Johnny Rockets opening in the area,” said Juan Francisco Cruz, Johnny Rockets’ franchise owner, along with his wife Paulina Zaragoza. “And being located next to the University of Texas El Paso campus is a dream come true for meI graduated from the University and now being able to serve the students and the community with great burgers and shakes and so much more is amazing.  We are open early for breakfast seven days a week and late every night serving fresh, made-to-order meals. ”

James Walker, Johnny Rockets President of Operations and Development said, “When Juan opened the doors late last month for his soft opening, the restaurant and drive thru were instantly packed with people eager to try Johnny Rockets world famous burgers and shakes. The new kitchen equipment that is part of Johnny Rockets 2.0 cuts food production times by more than half without sacrificing the superior quality and consistency of all our menu items.  As a result, Juan and his team are able to speed up operations and provide great service to their guests both in the drive thru and in the restaurant.”

Johnny Rockets is known for its fresh, never frozen, 100% beef burgers made to order, hand spun shakes, farm fresh chicken sandwiches and salads, and classic sides.  The new restaurant showcases the food with freshness cues on the walls such as farm-to-table, never frozen, 100% domestic farm-raised beef, hand-crafted burgers and hand-spun shakes.  The contemporary design uses warm grey tones, brick veneer and splashes of red as well as a mix of modern and industrial style lighting.  There are upholstered booths, a larger communal table so that friends and families can enjoy meals together and other tables and chairs can easily be moved around. The restaurant can seat 24 people inside and 32 on the patio.

Walker continued, “El Paso is a great bicultural metropolitan city that is home to great schools, medical centers, thriving businesses, an outstanding military base and friendly people.  It has tremendous growth potential for Johnny Rockets as does the entire state of Texas.”

“We are excited about opening our second Johnny Rockets at the Cielo Vista Mall in early October,” added Cruz.  “We have a prime location at the mall by the West Main entrance with seating for fifty people in the restaurant and patio seating for forty-four. It will definitely be a dining destination stop for shoppers, mall employees, businesses and people living in the area.”

Johnny Rockets’ grand opening event will benefit Candlelighters, a non-profit organization that serves families of children with cancer.  Twenty percent of sales from the restaurant’s grand opening event day will be donated to the charitable organization.

“Giving back to the community in which we serve is extremely important to all of us at Johnny Rockets,” said Juan Cruz.  “And shining some light on what Candlelighters does for so many families dealing with this life threatening disease, hopefully will help encourage others to support them.”

“The diagnosis of cancer, especially when it effects a child just beginning their life, can have a devastating impact on the entire family throughout the treatment period and beyond. We are committed to ensuring that no child or family has to fight childhood cancer alone,” said Scott Lynch, CEO of Candlelighters. “We are truly appreciative to Juan Cruz and the Johnny Rockets team to have selected us to receive this charitable donation.  It’s even more significant because the new restaurant is located just around the corner from where Candlelighters first started back in 1978 at Providence Children’s Hospital.”
