Enjoy an Apple Turnover for only one cent with any purchase
What can you get for a penny anymore? There’s at least one thing a penny can still buy – at the Krystal Company, on National Pie Day, participating Krystal restaurants will happily accept pennies for the brand’s signature Apple Turnover. Good all day only on January 23.
“Fans love our delicious apple turnover and we’re happy to share it at an incredible value on National Pie Day,” said Jason Abelkop, Chief Marketing Officer for the Krystal Company. “Everyone’s Friday will be a little sweeter with our signature dessert and at an add-on cost of a penny, it’s impossible to turn down!”
The Apple Turnover is a perfectly portable dessert that captures the essence of this classic American pie. Cinnamon-sweetened apple pieces are fully encased in a crispy pie shell. National Pie Day will be celebrated at participating restaurants all day on January 23. Complement any meal with the one-cent pie from the iconic Krystal square burger to the new Hushpups to any number of combos. Purchase required. Supplies available while they last.
National Pie Day started in the mid-1970s by Boulder, CO teacher Charlie Papazian, who declared this observance on his birthday. The holiday is celebrated annually on January 23, and has been endorsed by the American Pie Council (APC) since 1986. The APC is the nation’s only purely pie-focused organization and is committed to “preserving America’s pie heritage and promoting America’s love affair with pies.”
