California-based DINOSAURS VIETNAMESE SANDWICHES has increased by 1 unit, from 3 to 4 (33% growth).  This fast casual concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  The restaurants serve beer and wine and have seating for about 20.  All the locations are in CA.

Andover, MA-based BURTON’S GRILL (foudned 2005) has increased by 1 unit for the Red Heat Tavern concept, from 1 to 2 (100% concept growth).  The company also operates 10 Burton’s Grill restaurants.  Overall company increase was from 11 to 12 (9% company growth).  The restaurants are upscale, serving American cuisine.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with a $15-$50+ per person check average.  The restaurants have full bar service and average seating for about 200.  Catering is available.  Trading areas are CT, MA, NH, SC and VA.

Oklahoma City, OK-based TACO MAYO (founded 1978) has increased by 9 units, from 81 to 90 (11% growth).  This quick serve Mexican concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Seating is for about 30.  Locations are franchised and trade in AR, KS, OK and TX.

Mississauga, ON-based SUNSET GRILL RESTAURANTS (founded 1985) has increased by 16 units, from 44 to 60 (36% growth).  This family/casual concept is open for breakfast and lunch, specializing in breakfast foods.  Seating is for about 80.  Beer is served.  Locations are franchised and trade in ON.

Atlanta, GA-based THE VARSITY (founded 1928) has increased by 1 unit, from 7 to 8 (14% growth).  These quick serve American restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Seating is for about 150, with catering and drive-thru options.  All the restaurants are located in GA.

Houston, TX-based THE DISTRICT (founded 2003) has added 2 new concepts called The District and District 7 Pizzeria.  Other company concepts are District 7 Bistro (3) and Table 7 (1).  Overall company increase was from 4 to 6 (50% company growth).  The restaurants are family/casual Italian and American concepts, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $6-$15+, with full bar service and seating for about 150.  Catering, delivery and banquet facilities are available.  All the restaurants are in TX.

Dallas, TX-based COWBOY CHICKEN WOOD FIRE ROTISSERIE (founded 1981) has increased by 8 units, from 13 to 21 (62% growth) and entered into AL, LA and NE.  This fast casual concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person check average.  Units have seating for about 60 and offer catering, delivery and online ordering services.  Locations are franchised and trade in AL, LA, NE and TX.

California-based DOMAINE RESTAURANTS AND BRUSH CREEK HOSPITALITY (founded 1994) has increased by 1 unit, from 6 to 7 (17% growth), with the addition of a new concept called Red Pearl Kitchen.  Other company concepts are 25 Degrees (4), Bia Hoi @ Snowmass (1) and Public Kitchen & Bars @ Roosevelt Hotel (1).  The restaurants are upscale, serving multiple cuisine types.  Per person check average is $15-$50+, with full bar service and average seating for about 125.  Catering and banquet services are available.  Trading areas are CA, CO and IL.  We wrote about this company on 7/15/14 (20% growth).

Plano, TX-based ZOE’S KITCHEN (founded 1995) has increased by 31 units, from 144 to 175 (22% growth) and entered into AR and TN.  This fast casual Mediterranean concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person check average.  Beer and wine are served at select locations. Average seating is for about 60.  Catering is available.  Trading areas are AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MO, NC, NJ, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX and VA.  Around 40% of the restaurants are franchised.  We last featured this concept on 3/10/15 (20% growth).

Sandy, UT-based BEANS & BREWS COFFEE HOUSE (founded 1993) has increased by 6 units, from 28 to 34 (21% growth).  These quick serve coffee shops are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Stores offer drive-thru and online ordering, with limited seating available.  Trading areas are NV and UT.  Franchising is available.  We last featured this concept on 7/15/14 (12% growth).
