Growing Concepts of Multi Unit Operators
Concepts that have grown by at least 5% (if less than 50 units).

Connecticut-based ARCHIE MOORE’S BAR & RESTAURANT (founded 1898) has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth).  This family/casual concept serves American cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner. Per person check average is $8-$20+.  The restaurants seat about 150 and offer catering services.  All locations are in CT.

New York, NY-based MYRIAD RESTAURANT GROUP (founded 1985) has increased by 1 unit, from 6 to 7 (17% growth) with the addition of a new concept called Acela Club.  Other company concepts include Corton (1), Nobu (3), Nobu Next Door (1), and Tribeca Grill (1).  The restaurants are upscale, serving multiple cuisine types.  Locations have full bar service and average seating for about 175.  Catering and banquet services are available.  All the restaurants are in NY.

Key West, FL-based ROLY POLY ROLLED SANDWICHES (founded 1997) has increased by 6 units, from 83 to 89 (7% growth).  This fast casual sandwich shop is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Units seat about 20 and offer catering, delivery and online ordering.  Trading areas are AL, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, and VA.  All stores are franchised.

TWO BOOTS PIZZA based in New York, NY (founded 1987) has increased by 1 unit, from 12 to 13 (8% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for around 100.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$15+.  Catering and banquet services are offered.  Locations are in CA, CT, MD and NY.

BILLY SIMS BBQ of Broken Arrow, OK has increased by 11 units, for Billy Simms BBQ, from 25 to 36 (44% concept growth).   These are family/casual BBQ restaurants with seating for around 150.  Beer is served.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $4-$12+.  Catering and banquet services are offered.  Other company concepts are Billy & Ike’s (3) and Ike’s Chile (1).  Overall company increase from 29 to 40 (38% company growth).

Emerging and Re-emerging Concepts

West Chester, PA-based DAVE MAGROGAN GROUP (founded 2003) has increased by 2 units for the Harvest Seasonal grill, from 1 to 3 (200% concept growth) and also added a new concept called Stella Rossa (1 unit).  Other company concepts are Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House (4) and Kildare’s Irish Pub (5).  Overall company increase was from 11 to 13 (18% growth), due to the closure of 1 Kildare’s location.  The restaurants are mostly upscale, with a $15-$50+ per person check average.  All have full bar and average seating is for around 300.  Banquet services are available.  Trading areas are DE and PA.

Dublin, OH-based ROOSTERS (founded 1988) has increased by 1 unit, from 30 to 31 (3% growth).  This family/casual concept serves American cuisine, with a $6-$15+ per person check average.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  The restaurants have full bar service and seating for about 150.  Between 30% and 40% of the units are franchised.  Trading areas are IN, KY, OH, and WV.  We last wrote about this concept on 3/12/13 (20% growth).

Tampa, FL-based BONEFISH GRILL (founded 2000) has increased by 26 units, from 166 to 192 (16% growth) and entered into CT, MA, NV, and RI.  This upscale seafood concept is open for dinner, with a $15-$50+ per person check average.  The restaurants have full bar and seating for about 250.  Trading areas are AL, AR, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WI.  Franchising is available.  Bonefish is a subsidiary of Bloomin Brands.  We last featured this concept on 8/21/12 (9% growth).

East Hartford, CT-based WINGS OVER (founded 1998) has increased by 2 units, from 30 to 32 (7% growth).  This quick serve chicken restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Beer is served.  Locations offer delivery and online ordering services.  All units are franchised and trade in CT, DC, IL, MA, MI, NC, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, and WI.  We last wrote about this concept on 2/12/13 (3% growth).

DEWEY’S PIZZA of Cincinnati, OH (founded 1998) has increased by 1 unit, from 16 to 17 (6% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with seating for around 90.  Beer and wine are served.  Per person check average is around $4-$12+.  Lunch and dinner are served and banquets are offered.  Locations are in IL, KY, MO and OH.  We reported on this concept on 5/7/13 (7% growth).

CHOP’T CREATIVE SALAD COMPANY of New York, NY (founded 2001) has increased by 2 units, from 21 to 23 (10% growth).  These are fast casual restaurants with limited seating.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $4-$12+.  Catering and delivery are offered.  Locations are in DC, MD, NY and VA.  We wrote about this concept on 4/23/13 (40% growth).
