Ending 2016 with a total of ten restaurants open and operational wasn’t enough for the Carolina Beach based franchise. Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bars, on average, showed nearly 10% year-on-year growth from 2016 through the first quarter of 2017, with multiple stores exceeding 20% growth! On the operational side, cost of goods decreased by .5%, therefore also increasing EBITDA from operations by .5%.
Not only has the Oyster Bar and Sports Pub seen significant growth in dollars and cents, but also in their future footprint. A ground breaking was held in early April for a new location in Leland, NC. The newest project will be located at the Brunswick Forest community, providing local residents the opportunity to visit their favorite seafood sports bar without leaving their community.
Additionally, work has begun on four other locations outside of the Wilmington area, scheduled to open before the end of the year: Durham NC (Erwin Square), Cary NC (Tryon Village), Kingsport TN, and Statesboro GA. “The formula is simple and has remained the same since day one,” says CEO Jonathan Weathington, “keep the operational components simple and give each guest that walks through the doors great food, drinks, and service. That will not change for us. People love our brand because we strive to exceed expectations. It’s easy to do that with the quality of product we serve.”
