Sum-Sum-Summertime Menu Debuts at 14 Restaurants
Breakfast-Lunch favorite Sunny Street Café announced a new Limited Time Offer menu, available at all of the chain’s 14 locations. The menu features 7 new items that are perfect for summer breakfast, brunch or lunch.
This “Sum-Sum-Summertime” menu showcases homemade guacamole, made fresh daily. The Breakfast Burrito Laredo features delicious guacamole, along with sautéed veggies, cheese and fluffy scrambled egg. “We’ve got an excellent guacamole recipe, simply prepared, and we’re letting it shine on this new menu,” said Mike Stasko, Vice President of Brand Strategy for Sunny Street Café. “There seems to be something about homemade ‘guac’ that makes it feel like summertime.”
Guacamole is also shining on new lunch offerings, including the California BLT and Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla. “We’re seeing a great response at lunch, particularly with the Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla,” Stasko said. The quesadilla has chargrilled chicken that has been basted with a house made chipotle-lime marinade, along with guacamole, tomatoes, and two kinds of cheese, then griddled crispy and served with homemade salsa and sour cream.
Another new item is the Ricotta French Toast. “Our chefs use thick sliced sourdough, then whip whole milk ricotta into our batter, making a delicious and rich french toast unlike you’ve ever had,” Stasko said. “We make a homemade blueberry syrup to finish it and take it over the top.”
Sunny Street has also continued to expand their Made-From-Scratch muffin offerings, debuting a Pineapple Coconut muffin. It’s made with minced pineapple, toasted coconut and brown sugar. “We’re continuing to get great feedback on our homemade muffins, both in the restaurants as well as for breakfast catering,” Stasko said.
The new summer menu, with all items detailed below, is available for a limited time in all 14 Sunny Street Café locations throughout Ohio, Texas, Missouri and Alabama. It is also available for viewing at www.sunnystreetcafe.com.
NEW BREAKFAST ITEMS:
Chorizo Biscuits and Gravy: Two split buttermilk biscuits topped with our house made spicy chorizo gravy and two eggs any style.
Breakfast Burrito Laredo: Our veggie breakfast burrito has fluffy scrambled eggs, onions, peppers, tomatoes, Jack cheese, and homemade guacamole. Finished on the grill and served with hash browns, homemade grits or fresh fruit.
Ricotta French Toast: We whip whole milk ricotta into our batter to make a deliciously rich french toast, then top with homemade blueberry syrup.
Pineapple Coconut Muffins: Try our newest made from scratch muffin and you won’t be sorry… a fall-apart moist pastry with fresh minced pineapple and a hint of coconut.
NEW LUNCH ITEMS:
Taco Salad: Fresh greens tossed with tomatoes, red onion, corn and black bean salsa, black olives, cheese, and homemade guacamole. Served in a crispy tortilla shell with chipotle ranch dressing.
California BLT: Crisp bacon, lettuce and tomato with homemade guacamole and chipotle mayo. Served on thick sliced whole wheat toast with your choice of side.
Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla: Chipotle-lime marinated chicken breast, homemade guacamole, tomatoes, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, grilled together in a flour tortilla to make a golden, crispy quesadilla.
