82 Queen will mark their 30th year in business in 2012. To commemorate this milestone, a week long celebration is planned for February 6 – 11. The week will include special food and drink menus, champagne toasts, the revival of 82 Queen’s famous raw oyster bar and the announcement of an exciting new venture from the 82 Queen family.
When asked about the longevity of the restaurant, owner Steve Kish said, “We have always just tried to remember where we came from and stay true to the plan of fresh, local cuisine. We’re proud to continue to deliver a true Lowcountry experience after all these years.”
Starting Monday, February 6, Chef Steven Lusby will be recreating some of the favorite dishes from the past 30 years with a modern touch while the mixologists behind the bar will be reinventing favorite beverage items. Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11, customers are invited to 82 Queen each night starting at 6pm to indulge in free oysters, birthday cake and champagne toasts. While the parties will certainly draw many past employees and friends of the restaurant, the owners at 82 Queen would like to invite the public to attend any or all of the events to raise a glass and help celebrate the occasion.
Nestled in downtown Charleston’s historic French Quarter for the past 30 years, 82 Queen is known for its gracious Southern hospitality and fresh local cuisine. Serving lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, the restaurant is spread throughout three buildings with eleven quaint dining areas including a turn-of-the-century courtyard featuring a mammoth Magnolia tree. 82 Queen is a three time winner of the ‘Best City Restaurant’ award from Southern Living magazine and five time recipient of the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine. Consistently called-on as a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike, this 300 year old address represents both the history and the cuisine of the Lowcountry.
