Another Broken Egg Cafe to Make Triumphant Return to MandevilleAward-Winning Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch Cafe Settles Back into City that Started it All

Another Broken Egg Cafe to Make Triumphant Return to MandevilleAnother Broken Egg Cafe, the award winning breakfast, brunch and lunch concept celebrated for its charming atmosphere and diversified menu options, is pleased to announce its homecoming to Mandeville, Louisiana. Slated to the open in early 2016 at 1901 US 190, the location marks a return to the city where the brand started. Before franchising as Another Broken Egg Cafe (ABEC), the first Broken Egg Cafe opened in Mandeville in 1996.

The new location will open under the leadership of Jake Alleman, managing partner of Cojak Holdings, LLC. While in college, Alleman worked bussing tables and washing dishes in the original Mandeville location before becoming the ABEC’s first franchisee in 2007. Over the past decade, Alleman has opened eight ABEC locations throughout the Southeast, including two in New Orleans.

“When the opportunity to bring Another Broken Egg Cafe back to Mandeville presented itself, I immediately jumped at it,” said Alleman. “Mandeville is where ABEC got its start, and where I began my career with the restaurant in 2001. This is where I fell in love with the concept and the restaurant industry as a whole, and I am excited to return to my ABEC roots. Longtime customers have been clamoring for ABEC to open again in Mandeville and I look forward to connecting with my neighbors the way ABEC did with me all those years ago.”

Since Broken Egg Cafe opened in Mandeville in 1996, it has grown into a national player in the brunch segment with more than 53 locations. The opening of the new Mandeville location brings back ABEC’s award winning dishes and charming ambiance, and customers will once again be able to belly up to the full-service bar and enjoy house-infused bloody marys and mimosas along with a rotating list of locally brewed beers and spirits.

“It all started here, and we are thrilled to bring our latest and greatest version of ABEC back to Mandeville,” said Vice President of Brand Development Nick Binnings. “Jake is a great operator and we are very excited to see him open in Mandeville. For us it just makes sense to have our very first franchisee, who has been a member of the ABEC family for so long, be the one to reintroduce ABEC to Mandeville. We know he’ll find long term success there.”
