Another Broken Egg of America (ABEA) announced today the signing of a landmark franchise agreement with Copia, LLC, to open 16 of its restaurants in Indiana, Kentucky and Louisiana. Additional possible locations include territory on the east coast.

The executive team of Copia, LLC, is best known for owning and operating five separately franchised Ruth’s Chris Steak House restaurants in Indianapolis, St. Louis and South Bend, Ind.

“We’re thrilled to be growing with such an experienced group,” said Nick Binnings, VP of Brand Development at ABEA. “Copia’s team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our brand, and we really look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

An estimated 25 jobs will be created per restaurant. Copia plans to open its first Another Broken Egg Café on the north side of Indianapolis in first quarter 2013. While each restaurant will boast its own operational staff, Copia will provide full executive management, financial and marketing services.

“From its menu to its customer service, to its real estate, Another Broken Egg meshes well with our philosophy,” said Kevin Armantrout, chief operating officer of Copia. “As with Ruth’s Chris Steak House, with ABEA we are joining a fast growing, upscale brand with a loyal customer base and a management team committed to quality and hospitality.”

ABEA’s announcement of the multi-unit agreement follows a banner year for the company, signing 29 franchise agreements and attracting a flock of multi-unit operators in the past 12 months. The company projects to open another 51 units during the next five years.
