The counterculture sub shop is set to open its doors in Easton Park on November 21st, bringing its famous “nug-filled” subs and super chill atmosphere to 7101 E William Cannon Dr., right near the high-octane action of the Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
Ready to “Tame the Munchies”? The new joint will be open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, serving up their signature “toasted” subs and an endless flow of Kool-Aid – a fresh stash right off the track, and thankfully, no rolling papers required.

This isn’t just another sub shop; it’s a full experience. In addition to Cheba Hut’s diverse menu, the new space features a laid-back bar and a stunning custom mural created by local Austin art duo, Candy & FISH. The artwork pays tribute to local icons like the Austin airport, COTA, and Cottonmouth Creek, perfectly blending the Chebaverse vibe with “America’s Weirdest City.” Think of it as a smoke signal to the south side – a welcome that stays lit and looks dope.
The spot is built for all your cravings, from lunch breaks to late-night munchies. The service is fast, the beer selection is local, and the cocktails are creative (hello, Hash Can and Buzzed Bong Water!). All of this is served up with a soundtrack that hits just right on any day of the week. As franchisee Joe DeMaioribus puts it, “Call it a wake-and-munch or a midnight run – either way, the cure lives here.”
This is the third Austin-area shop for DeMaioribus, showing that the Texas push is real. With sixteen locations statewide, Cheba Hut is proving you can get high-quality “nugs – no seeds, no stems” and get “Toasted” without losing that authentic counterculture flair.
