Dairy Queen Gives Fans a Decadent New Flavor to Kick Off the New Year

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in a pie, with soft serve? That’s the combination that kicks off the New Year for Dairy Queen with the debut of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard Treat as the featured Blizzard of the Month for January.

A mouthwatering combination of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup pieces and graham pie crust base mixed with creamy DQ vanilla soft serve, the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard Treat is available at all participating Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill restaurants nationwide in January.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard Treats are available in four sizes, including the popular Mini, and also can be served in a waffle cone.

“We continue to create new and unique flavors that set us apart each time a Blizzard Treat is turned upside-down and served with a smile,” said Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “We have an exciting 2014 planned and look forward to sharing big news with our fans throughout the year.”

Many Blizzard Treat flavors, including Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie, can easily be made into DQ Cakes which are perfect for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and more.

Dairy Queen began blending simple combinations of chocolates, nuts, cookies, candies and fruits with DQ soft serve in 1985 to create the signature Blizzard Treat. The iconic treat has created the served upside-down Blizzard culture and since then, one-of-a-kind flavors such as S’mores, Chocolate Candy Shop and Confetti Cake have delighted Dairy Queen fans as part of the featured Blizzard of the Month program, which began in 2003.
