University of Florida alumni and wife to bring acclaimed burgers, brats and brews brand to the Sunshine State
Dog Haus will soon make its Florida debut. The award-winning concept has signed an area development agreement with seasoned restaurant franchisees Livingston and Terri Chatman, marking the brand’s first expansion into the state.
Livingston – a notable University of Florida basketball alumnus – and his wife, Terri, bring more than 20 years of experience in franchising multiple restaurant concepts. The duo plans to open their first Dog Haus location in Tampa in late 2025 or early 2026. While this agreement covers a single unit, they are already exploring potential additional sites across Florida in the years ahead.
“We were immediately drawn to Dog Haus’ innovative approach to comfort food and how it stands out in a crowded industry,” said Livingston Chatman. “After following the company’s impressive growth and ongoing success, we knew we had to be part of this journey – and we’re proud to introduce this brand to Florida.”
The Chatmans first discovered Dog Haus through its coverage in national restaurant and franchising trade publications. Impressed by the brand’s continued industry recognition for its creative menu, guest experience and bold branding, the Chatmans saw a perfect fit for their growing portfolio that includes a number of restaurant brands.
“We’re excited to welcome Livingston and Terri to the Dog Haus family,” said Dog Haus Executive Vice President Erik Hartung. “Their extensive experience and passion for quality, along with their dedication to operational excellence, make them excellent partners as we expand into new markets. Florida represents a major milestone for us, and we’re confident the Chatmans will help establish a strong foundation for growth in the region.”
