Let’s face it. There’s not much you can do to improve upon the award-winning enchiladas served at El Fenix. They’ve set the standard in North Texas for nearly 100 years.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 7, all 22 El Fenix restaurants will be showcasing carnitas on the following special menu:
Seared Pork Carnitas – Seared pork carnitas with rice, black beans and two-tomato salsa, served with a side of tortillas. ($9.99)
But don’t wait too long to savor these special dishes. El Fenix will be serving up its carnitas classics for a limited time only.

El Fenix was founded in 1918 by Mike Martinez, a Mexican immigrant who opened a small restaurant on the corner of Griffin Street and McKinney Avenue in Dallas. Often, at its main location in downtown Dallas, the lunchtime line of patrons spills out the front door and down Alamo Street. El Fenix is renowned as the originator of “Tex-Mex cuisine” and the restaurant’s Wednesday “Enchilada Dinner Special,” which features two cheese enchiladas, refried beans, and rice.
