The award-winning cafe will accept Villanova University Nova Bucks
First Watch Restaurants, the popular breakfast, brunch and lunch concept, today announced it will open its second Philadelphia-area restaurant on Monday, May 23, at 7 a.m. at 775 East Lancaster Ave. in Villanova, one block from Villanova University. This new 3,800-square-foot space will be 33-year-old First Watch’s fifth restaurant in Pennsylvania and will employ about 25 people. As part of the Wildcard student program, the restaurant will begin accepting the university’s Nova Bucks before the beginning of the Fall semester.
“First Watch has had a home in Pennsylvania for a decade, with three booming restaurants in the Pittsburgh area, so when we finally got the opportunity to open our first in the Philadelphia area earlier this year, we were absolutely thrilled with the community response,” said Chris Tomasso, president of First Watch. “Villanova was an easy choice for our second Philadelphia-area opening. The vibrant student community near the university as well as the restaurant’s proximity to neighboring I-476 make it an ideal spot to bring First Watch’s unique breakfast, brunch and lunch.”
First Watch’s menu has evolved significantly since its first Pennsylvania opening in 2007, and the company’s curated new menu takes an elevated approach to traditional and innovative offerings made to order using farm fresh ingredients. It includes items such as Avocado Toast, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. The Villanova restaurant will offer healthy, flavorful favorites like house-made granola and pico de gallo, organic greens, house-roasted vegetables, cage-free eggs and 100% fresh-squeezed orange juice as well as more indulgent, traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings.
On Lancaster Avenue, First Watch will also offer options from the restaurant’s Fresh Juice Bar, featuring the popular Kale Tonic and Day Glow offerings, juiced in-house daily from fresh fruits and vegetables sourced locally whenever possible. The restaurant will serve its exclusive Sunrise Select Premium Blend Coffee, made from slow-roasted, hand-selected, high-grown coffee beans from mountains across North, Central and South America, by the pot.
The new First Watch will open with the restaurant’s latest interior design, which combines farm fresh elements with a high-energy, urban vibe.
First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers customers complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.
