“Daytime Café” announces plans for expansion in Maryland

First Watch, the nation’s leading Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch concept today announced plans to expand its presence in Maryland with the opening of a new restaurant in Gaithersburg, Md., during the summer of 2014.  The restaurant will employ approximately 25 people. First Watch currently has three additional Maryland restaurants in Pikesville, Rockville and Timonium.

“As we look for areas to expand our First Watch presence, Muddy Branch, with its small town charm and deep history, was a natural fit for our local, neighborhood feel,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch. “We look forward to bringing our fresh approach to Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch to this vibrant area and to becoming a family tradition in the community.”

The new First Watch will be located at 802 Muddy Branch Road and occupy an end-cap space within Muddy Branch Square. The 3,900-square-foot restaurant will feature a patio for outdoor dining in the Giant Food-anchored center.

The new restaurant’s design will accentuate an open-kitchen concept, which reinforces First Watch’s honest approach to fresh food preparation. All menu items are freshly prepared to order and the restaurant does not use deep fryers or heat lamps.
