The daytime café is celebrating its new restaurant with a pre-opening fundraiser for the kids.

Popular Sarasota-based breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant First Watch today announced it will open the doors to its first Venice restaurant on Monday, June 20. The new restaurant will donate all money raised from a pre-opening event to Forty Carrots Family Center, which aims to strengthen and enrich the lives of local families through education, outreach and support. Event attendees in Venice this weekend will enjoy a complimentary brunch from First Watch’s new menu, including fresh dishes like the Elevated Egg Sandwich and Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos as well as options from the restaurant’s Fresh Juice Bar.

The event will be held at the new First Watch at 1617 US 41 Bypass South from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, and is open to the public. A $10 per person donation is suggested. The 3,000-square-foot restaurant officially opens for business on Monday, June 20.

“First Watch has had a fruitful partnership with Forty Carrots for years, and we find the work they do for families in our communities from Bradenton to Venice – regardless of economic standing, age or education – to be admirable,” said Chris Tomasso, president of First Watch. “We’ve wanted to bring First Watch’s fresh breakfast, brunch and lunch to Venice for some time, and we’re so excited about the opportunity to partner with a local community organization like Forty Carrots to celebrate the opening.”

The new restaurant will be 33-year-old First Watch’s seventh restaurant in Sarasota/Manatee and will employ about 25 people. It will serve the company’s fresh, new menu and flaunt its new restaurant design, which combines farm fresh elements with a high-energy, urban vibe.

First Watch’s innovative menu takes an elevated approach to traditional and inventive offerings made to order using farm fresh ingredients. It includes items such as Avocado Toast, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. The new restaurant on US 41 Bypass South will offer healthy, flavorful favorites like house-made granola and pico de gallo, organic greens, house-roasted vegetables, cage-free eggs and 100% fresh-squeezed orange juice as well as more indulgent, traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings.

The new First Watch in Venice will also offer options from the restaurant’s Fresh Juice Bar, juiced in-house daily using fresh fruits and vegetables sourced locally whenever possible. The restaurant will serve its exclusive Sunrise Select Premium Blend Coffee, made from slow-roasted, hand-selected, high-grown coffee beans from mountains across North, Central and South America, by the pot.

First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers customers complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.
