Most Outstanding Wine and Winery Awards based on tour guests’ selections

Grapevine Wine Tours Guests Vote Homestead TopsFor the fourth consecutive year, guests of the Grapevine Wine Tours have chosen Homestead Winery as the city’s “Most Outstanding Winery.” And for the second time, one of Homestead’s wines, Bois D’Arc, was voted its “Most Outstanding Wine.”

Every guest of the Grapevine Wine Tours between August 1, 2013, and July 31, 2014, was asked to vote on their favorite wine and winery. Homestead has won the annual winery award each year since the tours began in July 2010. Its wines are also among the most popular on the tours, which are extremely popular among out-of-town visitors and locals alike.

“What can I say? We never get tired of the recognition and we’re certainly grateful to the Grapevine Wine Tours for bringing so many wonderful visitors to our winery,” said Gabe Parker, owner of Homestead Winery. “Over the last four years, the tours have become a staple of the local tourism industry, and they have driven a significant amount of incremental traffic to all of the wineries in Grapevine. We’re so glad they’re going strong!”

Tours are available daily year-round and rotate among each of the wineries in Grapevine: Cross Timbers Winery, Delaney Vineyards, D’Vine Wine, Homestead, Su Vino Winery and the newest addition, Sloan & Williams Winery. Every four-hour excursion includes tastings at two wineries, a delicious meal with wine at either Farina’s Winery & Café or Winewood Grill, a tour of Historic Grapevine led by a professional guide, and transportation to and from local hotels on one of the company’s three tour buses.

“It’s hard to believe we’re already four years into this business, and what a wonderful ride it has been,” said Nancy Childs, co-owner of Grapevine Wine Tours and its sister operation, Dallas Wine Tours. “Homestead has been a popular stop on our tours from the very beginning thanks to their exceptional customer service, generous pours and charming atmosphere. But each of the wineries in Grapevine is outstanding in its own way, and we’re thrilled that Sloan & Williams has recently opened for business and embraced our tours. They may give Homestead a run for their money in next year’s vote!”

Lunch and dinner tours, offered seven days a week, are affordably priced at $84.50 and $94.50, respectively. Customized packages – designed for corporate outings, conference and convention groups, fundraisers, birthday and anniversary celebrations, bachelorette parties and other special occasions – are also available. Several area hotels now offer special packages including the wine tours. See http://grapevinewinetours.com/pages/gwtpackages.html for more information.
