“We’re very excited to return to Southern Maine with or newest brand, Ground Round Sports Grille, which is especially designed for these types of venues located within larger complexes such as movie theaters, bowling centers or airports,” states Jack Crawford, President & CEO of Ground Round Independent Owners Cooperative (Ground Round IOC).

The existing restaurant in Saco will have its own separate entrance, and will be renovated to include facility upgrades, Ground Round design elements, and equipment modifications to accommodate the expanded Ground Round menu. The new restaurant space will include a full bar and beverage offerings, a sports bar dining area, and patio seating in the summer months, and will be open for lunch, dinner and late night every day.

“Our Sports Grille menu offers many of our entrees and favorite items from our traditional Grill & Bar menu, with a greater focus on burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, salads and kids meals for this type of venue,” adds Crawford. A separate lunch menu will also be available.

Jim McGuckin, a 25 year restaurant veteran and Ground Round Franchisee, will be the owner/operator of the new Ground Round in Saco.

“We will hire approximately 50 employees from the area and plan to open in late April following completion of our facility upgrades and initial training process,” states McGuckin.
