Located at 4610 W University Dr., this fresh spot marks the seventh Cheba Hut in DFW and the 80th shop in the Chebaverse. Finally, there’s a local plug dealing in blunts (the food kind, of course!) and nugs that will let you Tame the Munchies in true fast-casual style.
More Than Just Subs: It’s a Vibe
Cheba Hut isn’t just about bold sub combinations; it’s about the full experience. The new McKinney location is owned by franchisee Bhavik Bhakta, who also runs the original Denton shop, and he poured his heart into making this spot unique.
Working with Cheba Hut muralist Finley, Bhakta commissioned a stunning new mural. Drawing inspiration from his experience as a second-generation American, the art tells a story of enlightenment, infused with serious BCE (Big Cheba Energy). Now, guests have something bold and trippy (in the best way – no substances required!) to study while they wait for their grub.
“Cheba Hut hooked me years ago at Colorado festivals – the food, the vibe, the people,” said Bhavik Bhakta. “Bringing that energy home has been a dream. I love that we’re able to give the shops some local flavor mixed with our own personal culture, including the McKinney mural, which nods to my family’s belief that food brings people together.”
