Mississippi-based QSR brand Bumpers Drive-In is expanding its footprint into Texas with the addition of a new franchise partner in restaurant veteran James Brown. A seasoned foodservice professional with decades of experience, Brown will open the first Bumpers location in Texas, marking a key step in the brand’s continued growth beyond its Southern roots.
Beginning his career in hourly roles and eventually encompassing oversight of multiple brands, Brown’s dynamic career in the restaurant industry has been successful for more than 20 years. He has been unshakably dedicated to just one company for all that time, but now, he’s blazing a new trail as an owner. “I’ve been privileged to learn what it takes to run a business and be a strong leader. It’s finally time to build something of my own,” Brown said.
After exploring several franchise concepts, Brown and his family traveled to Mississippi to sample the Bumpers experience firsthand. The brand’s unique takes on quick-service favorites, like the one-of-a-kind funnel cake fries, made Bumpers stand out from the pack. What sealed the deal was Bumpers’ strong operational guidance from the very beginning of James’ application process. “The operations team really impressed me with their knowledge and support,” said Brown. “And the food is nothing like fast food.”
After being welcomed aboard the Bumpers team last week, Brown is enthusiastic about the future of his enterprise. He sees big potential ahead and is looking forward to leveraging the strong brand loyalty that Bumpers enjoys. “I want to grow my Bumpers empire as big as I can,” Brown said. “We welcome any sites in the Lindale, TX area from local brokers,” he added. Feel free to reach out to Bumpers’ representative via email and send sites that are available in Lindale!
With this new partnership, Bumpers continues its mission to bring high-quality, affordable food to more communities – and to support franchisees like James Brown in building thriving local businesses. “We expect great things from this industry veteran,” said Bumpers Founder & CEO, Doc Sethi. “He and his family are a perfect addition to our family, and we feel such gratitude that they chose us.”
Bumpers owns and operates more than 35 stores in the Mississippi/Tennessee market and is now franchising across the southern U.S., offering a cost of entry under $250K and the lowest royalties in the industry. Bumpers’ AUV of $1M+ in small towns under 3,000 spells quick ROI for hands-on operators. Founder Doc Sethi’s personal dream is to assist entrepreneurs in their business ownership goals.
Specializing in America’s favorite foods – burgers, fries, wings, hand cut onion rings, fried catfish, the famous Philly cheese sandwich, salads, and ice cream – the brand prides itself on feeding families across the South with affordable, fresh food.
