Get ready, Texas! If you’ve been looking for a taste of the islands without the plane ticket, your prayers have been answered. Ono Hawaiian BBQ, the beloved, family-owned fast-casual chain known for its incredible plate lunches and signature “Aloha” spirit, is making its first huge leap outside the West Coast by opening not one, but ten new restaurants across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex!
With over 115 locations already successfully grilling up flavor in California and Arizona, this move into Texas marks a major milestone for the brand. And what exactly are they bringing to the Lone Star State? A whole lot of scratch-made comfort food! Every dish is prepared fresh daily, with proteins marinated in-house and grilled to order.
You can expect to feast on all the island favorites that have made them famous, including the deeply flavorful Hawaiian BBQ Chicken, the tender Kalua Pork, the rich Kalbi Short Ribs, crispy Chicken Katsu, and, of course, the iconic Spam Musubi.
“At Ono Hawaiian BBQ, we’re passionate about sharing the spirit of Aloha with every plate we serve,” said Joshua Liang, Chief Executive Officer. He noted that Texas, a place that “embraces bold flavors and the joy of gathering around great food,” is the perfect new home for their made-to-order Hawaiian comfort food.
The new spots are set to open in early 2026, with confirmed locations spanning the DFW area, including Plano, McKinney, Rowlett, Carrollton, Dallas, Royse City, Hurst, Wylie, Haltom City, and Burleson. They’ll all feature a convenient fast-casual format with dine-in, takeout, and even drive-thru options, proving you don’t have to sacrifice handcrafted freshness for speed.
The brand’s success is no accident, having recently been recognized as a top-performing restaurant on the Restaurant Business’s Top 500 Chains Report. Now, the focus is all on Texas.
So, get ready to trade in your brisket for some expertly grilled Kalbi Short Ribs and a side of mac salad. The spirit of Aloha is officially heading south!
