Community Invited to Erik’s Sandwich Contest Final Judging with Major League Soccer Player, 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday, June 19th at Erik’s DeliCafé of Milpitas
Erik’s DeliCafé, the popular 31 unit fast casual sandwich brand, will host Finalist Judging for Erik’s Make a Quakes Sandwich Contest and invite the community to participate at Erik’s DeliCafé, 148 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, from 3:00 p.m. thru 4:30 p.m., Monday, June 19th, 2017. Finalists for Erik’s sandwich contest were chosen from numerous entries from both a team member sandwich contest and a customer submitted sandwich contest. The finalists will compete with their sandwich entries, tasted and judged by Erik Johnson, Founder & CEO of Erik’s DeliCafé, and Major League Soccer player #27 of the San Jose Earthquakes, Fatai Alashe. Each sandwich will be scored based on Taste (70%), Originality (20%), and Ease of Production (10%). Two sandwiches, one from an Erik’s team member and one from a customer, will be chosen as winners and featured on Erik’s DeliCafé’s What’s New menu in August.
“We invite customers and fans of the Quakes to join Erik and Fatai as they judge the Make a Quakes Sandwich Contest this Monday,” said Brian Johnson, Vice President and General Counsel of Erik’s DeliCafé. “We are excited to engage with the community and incorporate our customers’ sandwich-making talent onto our menu.”
Alashe was the Earthquakes’ first-round selection (No. 4 overall) in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft out of Michigan State University. His goal against the Chicago Fire on March 22, 2015 was not only the first goal of his professional career, but the first in Avaya Stadium history. The 23-year-old midfielder wears #27 for the San Jose Earthquakes, has been called to United States National Team camps, and was last year named to Major League Soccer’s 24 under 24 list, presented by EA Sports. Alashe will be on location at Erik’s DeliCafé to judge Erik’s Make a Quakes Sandwich Contest this coming Monday, 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., June 19th, 2017.
