The opening of the tastiest dining spot in town is coming soon. The all-American iconic restaurant brand, Shoney’s, is opening its newest, one-of-a kind restaurant in the Pier Park Mall, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration on Thursday, March 14 at 3 p.m. Panama City Beach Mayor Gayle Oberst, Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau members will attend the festive occasion.
Since acquiring the iconic brand in 2006, David Davoudpour has been on a mission to reinvigorate its family-friendly, southern-style restaurants, and his latest creation in Panama City Beach is a testament to his efforts.
“Our new restaurant in Panama City Beach will be like no other restaurant in town,” said David Davoudpour, Chairman and CEO of Shoney’s. “We are extremely delighted to open a whole new Shoney’s that will provide delicious, fresh quality food at an honest value to both the local residents in the Panama City area and beach visitors.”
The 7,200 square-foot restaurant, which features both indoor and outdoor seating, will be the largest Shoney’s in operation. Guests will enjoy a marvelous selection of tasty entrees for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Menu choices will include everything from fresh Black Angus beef burgers and Aged Certified Angus steaks, to freshly prepared entrée salads and sandwiches, to Shoney’s signature southern-inspired dishes, such as fresh fried chicken, home-style meatloaf and seafood platters. Shoney’s signature desserts, such as the famous hot fudge cake and strawberry pie, will also be available. The new Shoney’s restaurant will be open daily Sunday through Thursday from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until midnight.
Guests will also enjoy a wide variety of freshly prepared buffet items throughout the day. Shoney’s signature Legendary Breakfast Buffet will feature southern-style breakfast choices like fresh cracked eggs your way, hickory smoked bacon, savory sausage, home-style grits, fresh pancakes, pastries, and much more. Shoney’s lunch and dinner buffets include southern favorites like fresh fried chicken, BBQ pork, savory meatloaf, home-style cooked vegetables, seafood, soup, salad and fruit.
Introducing a new twist to the brand, Shoney’s Panama City Beach will feature full liquor service that will include beer, wine, and a variety of specialty cocktails. Exceptional non-alcoholic beverages like freshly squeezed orange juice, made-to-order milkshakes and smoothies, and fresh-ground espresso beverages will also be available.
“Our restaurant will have something for everyone,” said Davoudpour. “Whether you’re a Panama City local or visiting on vacation, you will have a great time at our new Shoney’s.”
