Study Shows All Red Meat Has Risk; Charo Chicken Has Long Pioneered Healthy Alternatives

A study released by the Harvard School of Public Health has shown that eating any amount or type of red meat increases the chance of early death. By eating just one 3-ounce serving of unprocessed red meat in one’s daily diet was associated with a 13% greater chance of dying during the course of the 20 year study among adults. Even worse, adding an extra daily serving of processed red meat, such as a hot dog or two slices of bacon, was linked to a 20% higher risk of death during the study.

The researchers also discovered that replacing red meat with other foods like poultry was linked with a 14% reduction in mortality risk. “Charo Chicken has always offered a healthy alternative to red meat, and we are proud to offer an alternative that can help extend your life,” says Moe Bonakdar, founder of Charo Chicken. “Our fire-grilled chicken, chicken sandwiches and burritos and healthful sides and salsas are made fresh daily in each restaurant, and the recipes are created by me to incorporate flavor and taste in every meal. We use fresh never-frozen chickens and continue to innovate new dishes, like our Turkey Guacamole Sandwich, to satisfy the demand for quality, healthy, good-tasting convenient foods.”

Charo Chicken offers several chicken entrees including fire grilled whole chickens with lemon garlic sauce, wings, burritos, salads, quesadillas and sandwiches, including a Guacamole Chicken Breast Sandwich and a Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich.
