Austin-born taco joint revives a highly-requested Yucatecan classic debuting March 3
Tacodeli, known for its chef-driven approach and high-quality ingredients, is answering the call of taco lovers once again, bringing back one of its top-requested Specials of the Moment. Making its much-anticipated return on March 3, the Tikin Xic (pronounced TEE-kihn sheek) reintroduces a fresh take on a regional Mexican staple, blending tradition with Tacodeli’s signature modern twist.
This expertly crafted taco features achiote-marinated grilled fish infused with rich salsa Negra, layered with habanero onion escabeche and garnished with fresh cilantro — all wrapped in Tacodeli’s signature tortilla. Traditionally, this dish is prepared by marinating whole fish in achiote and grilling it in banana leaves, but since the brand lives and breathes tacos, it’s taken those vibrant flavors and reimagined them into ultimate taco form — because everything delicious belongs in a taco.
The beloved taco joint is also introducing its Blood Orange Basil Agua Fresca — a delightful blend of hand-squeezed blood oranges and fresh basil, bursting with citrusy brightness. A true taste of the season and an ideal option for Lent, this crisp and refreshing sip is the perfect match for the fiery spring flavors of the Tikin Xic Taco, balancing its spicy heat with a cool, invigorating finish.
“We take pride in celebrating Mexico’s rich culinary heritage through craftsmanship and top-quality ingredients,” said Roberto Espinosa, Founder of Tacodeli. “Back by popular demand, we’ve been eagerly anticipating the reintroduction of the Tikin Xic, a dish with deep roots in the Yucatán. This Special of the Moment features palatable flavors that are fresh, approachable and unmistakably Tacodeli.”
Known for its commitment to quality and fresh ingredients, Tacodeli takes tacos very seriously. Each year, the brand’s team hand-cracks over 3 million Vital Farms eggs, ensuring every breakfast taco is made with pasture-raised eggs that guests can feel good about. Pair that with thoughtfully sourced meats like Texas-raised Akaushi Wagyu beef, fresh veggies and craveable tortillas and you’ve got a meal that nourishes both body and soul — whether dining in or on the go for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Available for a limited time, the Tikin Xic taco and Blood Orange Basil Agua Fresca bring an elevated yet accessible taste experience. For more information, visit Tacodeli.com or follow the brand on Instagram and LinkedIn.
